To say that Clint was unprepared for that would be an understatement. But he recovers well, first patting Josephine lightly on the head and then holding up his hands, trying to placate her parents. But he's gone halfway, now, and he wouldn't be himself if he just rolled over and tried to appease them. So instead he picks Josephine up by the waist and puts her on his shoulder. She busies herself pulling at his arrows while he smiles apologetically at the rest of them.
